VE.Bus Smart Dongle is a VE.Bus bus interface on Bluetooth. In addition, it contains a sensor for the temperature and voltage of the connected battery (used to compensate for voltage drops and compensation of the charging voltage relative to the temperature of the battery during charging)

Using this interface, you can monitor system information on your smart device (using the VictronConnect app - https://www.victronenergy.com/support-and-downloads/software#victronconnect-app, a free downloadable app from Google Play and iOS) and it is also possible to change some system settings. At the same time, it enables firmware updates of the VE.Bus system.

The VE.Bus Smart Dongle is able to detect the temperature in two ways:
1/ the dongle is mounted directly on the battery (using double-sided cardboard), the battery temperature is then measured by the VE.Bus Smart Dongle itself
2/ however, it is more accurate using an optional sensor mounted on the battery. If a sensor is connected, the Dongle will automatically recognize it and use the measured temperature values from this sensor.
